We are more than a church building, but less than all the Christians in the world. We try not to be a denomination. Our loyalty is not to a group or a name, but primarily just to God as we know him in Jesus. We look at the fundamental description of followers of Jesus in Scripture, and we try to be just that and nothing more. This is the Argyle Church of Christ.
We are a group of people who are calling other people to God, and we tell them God is most perfectly seen and understood in Jesus Christ. We are disciples of Jesus; that is to say, we want to imitate him.
Through God’s gift of the Holy Spirit, we seek to be God’s living expression of himself on earth. This is the Argyle Church of Christ.
God is all about the business of helping people understand life and what he had in mind in creating us in the first place. When he begins the healing process, restoring us to the dignity and worth he intended, we call that redemption. That is most clearly seen in the death of Jesus on the cross, where forgiveness of our sins is provided for. But the lives we live after joining Jesus in his death and his resurrection - we do that in baptism – that, too, is redemption. This is where we pursue joyfully living out our faith. This is the Argyle Church of Christ.
The phrase that might help us to understand that would be words Jesus used to teach us to pray, when he says to the Father, "your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." At the Argyle Church of Christ, it is in our heart to do God’s will on earth! The Argyle Church of Christ is about exploring what God’s will is, and then encouraging each other and those who come to us to carry out God’s will. This is the Argyle Church of Christ.
