Ken Mick’s Bio
“Just a country preacher out of the hills…” or so he wants you to think - our preaching minister is Kenneth Mick, indeed a transplanted mountaineer out of West Virginia - he came to Florida after stops in Nashville, TN, Bloomington, IN, and Abilene Texas. His first full time ministry position was with the Herald of Truth media in Abilene, while he worked with adult education at the Highland Church of Christ.
Ken is a graduate of Lipscomb University in Nashville with a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Languages. He did graduate studies at Abilene Christian University in New Testament. While at ACU, he taught introductory Hebrew and Freshman Bible for three years as a grad assistant. But his choice for ministry is the local church: he gets to help mature a local congregation, introduce the Bible to beginners, work with new disciples, do in depth study, develop musical gifts, and in general respond to the broad challenges of serving in an individual church. The most rewarding work to him is this personal relationship with God - his own, of course, and then encouraging that in others. His reaction to ministry? “I am never bored. Mostly just overwhelmed.”
Ken’s family includes his wife, Kathryn Broom Mick, and their son Lincoln. They began their service with the Argyle church in 1997.
